You’re invited! Abigail Adams Walk & Talk Event with Prof. Samantha Matherne.

What would happen if two notorious walkers, William Wordsworth and Immanuel Kant, went for a walk around Cambridge? Let’s find out! For this event, Prof. Matherne will lead a guided walk around some philosophically and poetically significant spots in Cambridge. We will discuss how philosophers and poets discuss the value of walking, the differences between going on a poetic versus a philosophical walk, and how these perspectives compare with our own while walking. The walk will last approximately one hour.

After the walk, Prof. Matherne will hold office hours from 4:30-6 in Emerson Hall 107 (the Bechtel Room) to talk about anything walking- or humanities- related that is on your mind. These are drop-in office hours so feel free to come and go as you like.
